Bloggers Infiltrate A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition Meeting

Yesterday the bloggers of Vital Perspective talked their way into an Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.) meeting at the radical group's Washington DC headquarters. There Juan Jose Gutierrez told them that illegal immigrants are "slaves", and that "Abraham Lincoln was a racist."

1 I don't really have an argument against comparing illegals to slaves; there have certainly been enough cases of that. What I'd prefer to do, though, is shut down the slave trade and repatriate the victims.

Why aren't any of the moonbats or re-conquistadors angry at Spain or Portugal or France or Britain for settling North America and carving it into territories long before the US was even an idea? The US purchased these lands from the conquistadors and French and fought a few wars with the Brits and French to gain sovereignty. I refuse to forget the labors that men far greater than the ones currently in Congress undertook to create our nation. Ninety-five percent of all slaves imported to the New World were imported by Spain, Portugal, France, and to a lesser degree, Britain. We inherited their crimes and fought a civil war to correct the problem. I have never owned a slave, nor has anyone I know for a long time. I refuse to feel guilty.

NASCAR Not Pleased With NBC Dateline

Yesterday, I posted about the sleazy attempt to create news by NBC Dateline, by sending Muslim ringers to NASCAR events, hoping to provoke and secretly videotape some juicy anti-Islamic reactions from NASCAR fans (Kudos to Michelle Malkin for letting this nasty little cat out of the bag).

Now, having said that; they must think these good old boys won't go sideways on them in a hearbeat if they want to start some crap. If they start a war, they won't be able to live in any part of the South for too long, except maybe Florida and Atlanta. We're sick of everyone telling us how we should be and what we should do. We're generally civilized people, and most of us treat anyone as they treat us, and we're more polite than anyone else in the country on average. This is why so many people are moving to the South, and if they make good neighbors, they're welcome to live here, but if not, they're welcome to leave. The muslims are welcome to leave.

10 Actus, you need to sit this one out because you don't know what you're talking about. IM you are so right about southerners. Contrary to popular belief, there is less racism in the rural south than there is in any urban setting anywhere in the country. Far less. The people are much friendlier and neighbors help each other out with no expectations. I would ask one thing though in regards to Florida. North Florida is quite different than South Florida. So when referring to us Floridians, that distinction must be made. South Florida is a bastion of liberalism and lefties. We in North Florida are "southerners". We still know what hospitality is and what it means to have manners.

First, if they're really going to "prove" something (and I use the term loosely), let's not limit it to "flag-wavin' Southern redneck" events; do the same thing at Fenway, at a West-Coast PGA tournament, at a Midwestern Six Flags amusement park, and any place else where large numbers of people gather. Now that would be interesting, and it also might give all those NASCAR fans something to worry about, as a terrorist bombing by radical Muslims is much more likely than an attack on a Muslim by NASCAR fans. I doubt whether actus and his ilk would be very concerned about a terrorist attack at a NASCAR event anyway. They would probably say serves them right. 20 I don't know about any of these examples, they're all conjecture, but if NBC is trying to prove bigotry at the typical NASCAR event, and they show that a Muslim got his ass kicked by asking directions to the can or something, it'll mean nothing unless the same thing takes place at other events deemed less "Southern." If NBC is smart, they'll spread the experiment around.

Hard to believe NBC would put their NASCAR investment in jeopardy to appease Rock Phillips and his arrogant pals in the news division. NASCAR fans are very loyal to the sponsors and go out of their way to buy the goods and services advertised on the cars. Reason enough for these companies to pay all that money to get their name on the hood. IÂ’m sure the reverse of this will be true as well. Any company dumb enough to buy airtime for Dateline will probably feel it in the pocketbook. Note to NBC: If you want to see real discrimination and intolerance, park an SUV with Â“WÂ” and Â“Abortion is MurderÂ” bumper stickers around the green lake area of Seattle and leave it for a day. Pick up the rig at 5 and see how tolerant the left really is.

24 Oyster, the term "Florida Cracker" is in reference to the old Florida cowboys who rounded up the wild cattle left by the Spanish; apparently they used bullwhips like the Australians instead of lariats like the Western cowboys, and so were "whipcrackers". The term "cracker" applied by blacks to Southen whites in general also refers to whipcrackers, but as slave masters, not cattle drivers. I could be wrong, but what research I've done, including talking to a couple of old-timers, bears this out.

Illegal Gets Wrist Slap in Fatal Crash

(West Palm Beach, Florida) Some people are more equal than others.

From Miami.com:

A circuit judge accepted 21-year-old Daniel Rodriguez Mendoza's plea deal Monday morning against the wishes of the dead woman's family, who wanted him to serve as much as life in prison.
Mendoza, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, pleaded guilty to two felonies -- driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death -- and will essentially end his six-month stint at the Palm Beach County jail and stockade for the Sept. 25 accident that killed Kimberly Jo Dahmer, 42.

On four previous occasions, international trespasser Mendoza was cited for driving without a license. This time, someone died. As a result, he gets six months and deportation. The jail term is a gift and the deportation is a nothing. Even at his young age, Mendoza probably has more visits to the border than your typical Taco Bell customer.

I see it happening more and more often. Illegal aliens are either not prosecuted for crimes or they are treated leniently. Maybe it's because the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. just grows and grows. Nonetheless, it makes no sense for the justice system to view illegals differently from actual American citizens. Pretty soon, actual Americans would be well advised to just say "No speakie English" on all traffic stops. It's a free pass.

3 As a conservative immigration attorney I need to weigh in on this. In this particular case the alien is guilty of what's called an "aggravated felony" under immigration law. After he is deported ("removed" is the technical term post 1996), he can NEVER come back to the USA legally. If he returns and is caught, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison. And the Feds DO prosecute these matters. I had one case where we were asked to defend a guy from Honduras who returned to see his newborn child. Only problem was he had a conviction for having sex with another, underage female, and had previously been removed for it. When he was caught, he wound up getting sentenced by a federal judge to three years. The Feds especially don't like violent criminals coming back in violation of prior removal orders.

4 Wow, three years in the slammer is REAL punishment for statutory rape. I think 30 years would have been more like it, and hard labor at that. Perhaps these illegals would decide the US was not such a gravy train after all. Wasn't there a recent case in Denver where an illegal alien murdered a police officer? And other cases in California where illegals are committing felonies that either go unpunished or they get favorable treatment.

5 Did anyone else read the original article from Miami.com ? The woman was riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle. Her husband was intoxicated and hit a stopped vehicle. There was a lot of blame here for all. I ride here in New York City, I would never ride intoxicated, it is just too dangerous

I sit in court repeatedly and see illegals (non English speakers) given interpreters, heard first ahead of citizens and receiving half or less fines than citizens and less time or no time served compared to us sucker tax payors. We need a wall, we need troops on the border, we need undocumented aliens deported upon discovery, we need a heavy fine for employers hiring illegals with a bounty paid for turning them in and we need to end completely moslem imigration to name some simple common sense URGENT starting points. I'm watching for suggestions for depriving the parties, the "representatives", the governments of money and cooperation in a meaningful way. Are we so apathetic that we will leave a third world service economy and a shredded constitution to our children? I spit on the "representatives". Their agenda is not in the interest of my children. If these people weren't so dangerous, they'd be nothing less than comical. It's hard to believe that these people are adults, they're more like children living in a child's world.

Unlike the Romans, they weren't that big into road building: Cortez found nothing but trails. Not surprisingly, they didn't establish garrisons like the Romans, either. Bottom line: they didn't have that big of an empire.... It did not ever extend up into the dry deserts up north. It took the Spanish crown to provide any political linkage. It took the missionaries to provide ANY cultural linkage. Like the Aryan cultural history this one is totally fabricated. It's appeal to blood and land does come from Nazism. I actually think its great that everyone is discussing this... because the truth only comes out when enough people question what has been stated as fact right? As far as "Mexicans taking over the land" i think its a joke, it'll most likely never happen. (You can never say never and never say always). But, what has been outlined in that aztlan (where did that come from anyways?) more or less actually depicts what used to be considered "mexican territory." Someone also stated that the capital is in Mexico City, far from "the border" (with the US). That is correct, but it is a little known fact that the "Aztecs" which were the predominent society, did rule that far. It is also sad to say that they didn't treat "native americans" (those we call indians in the US) very well either. But, because of their "advanced civilization" they did pick on them. For those of you who question what an advnaced society is, compare the aztecs to the romans in that they were HUGE because of their civil engineering and agriculture areas as well as in other areas. Now, to clarify, many look at mexico like its a country on the same level as one in africa. Mexico is really a different world that is most definitly not comparable to a "real 3rd world country." If you want to play the angle of "technically, yes it is" then i can say, The united states is not one of the largest economies in the world (as a whole), that is soley the west coast of the US, and more exclusively, California (which at least a few years back it was the 3rd largest individual economy in the world). And that is fact. Treat "those people like crap" and you can only imagine what'll happen to the rest of the US. Anyhow, Everything would be so much better if people kept asking questions and actually knew their history... "history is written by those who win." Many don't know what really happened when mexico "sold their territory to the US." I don't think it matters now. But what does is this, someone said "Do they even speak aztec?" Well, maybe not the actual aztec language, but there are still MANY 'native languages' spoken in mexico. As there were many different types of peoples living in its land. I myself am 1st generation "mexican american." Once your family has been in the country more than 1 gen you intigrate much better. Almost ALL 2nd gen and down that i've come across don't even speak spanish anymore! My father was a chemicle engineer sent to new york, and then relocated to Los Angeles. We 'migrated' legally. And to be honest, i've had racist teachers who left me with physical life long disabilities. I'm not crying about it, but i do know for a FACT that this 'stuff' still exists. So i say, "don't try to take back what is lost" but do say, "we have to learn to live with eachother or else everyone loses." Its that simple! And for those who claim "what racisim? i'm white, i get discriminated more than whoever else..." 28 Just so you know, Aztlan was the land the Mexica people had before they were called Aztecs and before they founded Tenochtitlan on what it is now Mexico City. Aztec means "People from Aztlan" in Nahuatl, their native language. The legend was recovered during the independence and is still on the mexican flag. So Aztlan was really on the north, just before Tenochtitlan was even there. That being said, let me say I was born in the US from mexican parents and I think this whole "chicano" thing is just bad. If "chicanos" want to have their mexican ways they can very well return to Mexico. If they want to be in the US they better start working and adapting themselves to the society they want to belong. I am no chicano, I don't undestand that word and I don't share their views. I am a Mexican-American. And I will work and obey the law wherever I am and feeling proud of what I am. I am not a land-less person, I am a child of both worlds and I feel comfortable calling both home. WTW Missed the Rig But

I promised Jesusland Joe I would get us a pic of the rig for WTW. But I missed it. This is good because first of all the hole was a hit. Second because they got the rig moved before the roads went soft and got posted. So the flare was not as good as I hoped for a new well I did get a pic of the new pump jack and tank batteries. I reckon I should have been at bit closer to the pump jack looking at the pics now.

2 As an 8th generation Californian(Family sailed around the horn almost 200 years ago) I think someone should give these guys a history lesson. Russia took California away from France (yes France, Mexico and its states were a French colony for several hundred years!) in the 18th century. James K Polk sent Captain Freemont to San Francisco ( The Othodox Catholic name given the city by the Russians in the 18th century, the Mexican name for SF was Yerba Buena)to tell the Russians not to interfere with our plebiscite in 1848 (We actually had an effective intelligence agency back then and Knox Polk knew about the gold 2 years before the rest of the world) The Russians and the Bolsheviks hated America for 150 years becaus of this. It is also why the French gave Jefferson the Louisiana territory for such a low price; they knew they could not defend it and something was better than nothing. Of course many of the people who believe "America" took California away from "Mexico" also believe 911 was a Mossad operation and all the Jews stayed home from work that day! They make up history to suit their agendum.

From what we have witnessed over the last two weeks with American flags being flown upside-down beneath Mexican flags, and Mexican flags being hoisted in our schools, the "this is our land" posters, and the "Che Guevara," "It's time for revolution" T-shirts worn by all the "La Raza" and "Aztlan" sympathizers whose professed goal is to symply overrun us demographically to in effect take back the American Southwest, and indeed the rest of the US, by fiat of their sheer numbers reflected in the "populist vote"; any person not blinded by "saccharine idealism," or "political ideology" can discern that many of these people have the least desire to "integrate" and or "assimilate" into our society, which they hate in principle as having "exploited" them and robbed them (Mexico) of their land, and which in their minds many have come to equate to their former "Spanish Overlords," whom they have been taught to despise for generations, but rather on asserting their "national identities and customs," and imposing their "culture" on us!!! 9 One of the things that sucks about Vietnam is that just as we were figuring out how to effectively fight the VC and beat them at their own game Congress said it was time to turn everything over to ARVN, who screwed things up royally. I have trouble being afraid of the airboat. It looks like a kit-built personal seaplane to me. Even if it wasn't supposed to be stealth, that engine on top would still probably have a bigger radar profile than the entire rest of the aircraft. A sea-skimming profile is in fact very hard to detect. Just because a plane is slow does not mean that it can't penetrate. During the Korean War we had to bring back a prop plane to get rid of a night raiding all-wood BIPLANE that did not ping the radar. Hiding the engines under the wing root creates a VERY stealthy machine. With a little Russian technical assistance, they could have a real 'sleeper'. Pairing up a nuclear, ultra-high speed torpedo with flying boat would create a viable threat to a carrier. Our close in defenses can't stop the torpedo once launched. Catching a blacked out stealth plane riding just above the water is quite a challenge. Even the 'crackpot' German late-war schemes had technical merit. The ME-163 did shoot down our bombers. Given just a little more time to perfect it, it would have been unstoppable. Practically a piloted bullet, it was. You have to be concerned about a fanatic fatalistic cult that so prizes martial suicide. What if the Iranians just start ramming our pilots? Ramming tactics were used in WWII by Japan, Russia and Germany against bombers. Figure F-4 Phantom II's to be a serious threat in this way. Running on after-burners that baby can really go. The mullahs have played their cards very well until now. I have to respect them. We're absolutely NOT dealing with idiot-retards. Nothing is certain in war, especially nuclear war. Let's not get overconfident. They already have the bomb. The questions are: how many and where?

Iran is no where near Iraq and Afganistan and we can not just walk in. Seattle Ballot Measure Bans Military Recruiters

(Seattle, Washington) The Garfield High School PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) has collected enough signatures to put an anti-war measure on the city-wide November ballot. Called the College Not Combat Initiative, I-86, the initiative will decide whether military recruiters should be allowed on Seattle city property and in schools.

In the past, the Garfield PTSA has spearheaded anti-military measures with most people believing them to be symbolic. However, supporters disagree.

From Seattle Times:

Amy Hagopian, president of Garfield's PTSA, is a lead organizer of the initiative effort. She bristles at the word "symbolic" and compares the initiative to effective historical protests such as civil-rights sit-ins.

In my opinion, the comparison to civil rights protests is inappropriate. Nonetheless, although it's ostensibly symbolic, the proposal, if passed, would establish a committee to report on "whether the public schools and the city were inadvertently encouraging recruiting."

It's not clear exactly what comprises 'inadvertent encouragement.' It is clear, however, that the parent-teacher association seems to pay more attention to promoting a liberal political agenda than educating students in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

1 Do some more research on this one Jawa. Amy Hagopian use to be a member of the Garfield PTSA, but was asked to step down after the PTSA tried to pass a similar measure and the Federal Government stepped in and said "Fine, but we will take all our money away from Seattle School district" Upon which caused a minor scandal in Seattle since the board ask Mrs. Hagopian to step down and pulled back from passing the measure. It has also been reported in Seattle media that she has verbally harrassed military recuriters when they have shown up to Garfield High School. Mrs. Hagopian is primarly intrested not in the student of her school nor of Seattle, but of protesting what she calls "the illegal war in Iraq and Afghanistan" and of President Bush in general. It is a shame, going to use the kids of a city as part of a power play.

Malkin Exposes NBC Plot to Stigmatize NASCAR Fans

One of Michelle Malkin's readers has forwarded emails to her detailing an NBC Dateline scheme to provoke anti-Muslim/anti-Arab behavior at a NASCAR event. According to the email, sent out to members of a Knoxville Muslim organization in response to queries from Dateline producers, NBC wants:

...a guy with no foreign accent whatsoever, a good thick beard, an outgoing personality, and someone willing to wear a kufi/skullcap during the filming.
They also want someone who is fairly well accomplished and has contributed to American society at large in some meaningful way.
That said, I'm urgently looking for someone who can be filmed this April 1st weekend at a Nascar event (and other smaller events) in Virginia. NBC is willing to fly in someone and cover their weekend expenses. The filming would take place all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Quick, somebody set up a sting to gauge the elitist prejudices of NBC Dateline executives who think that all NASCAR fans are inbred hicks who don't vote Democrat often enough.

Note to NASCAR fans: NBC apparently wants to film their stunt at a NASCAR event this coming weekend (April - a follow-up email, also posted by Malkin notes the change in plan.

3 The fact is, if you place one or two people in a crowd and purposely make them look different to everyone else, they'll get some looks - but it doesn't necessarily mean hatred. So this'll be another lame piece of "investigative journalism" where the video shows nothing of interest happening, but the "victims" stating how tense the situation was and how uncomfortable they were. So I spend a lot of time pointing out the not so good things. Today itÂ’s my pleasure to report that women have voted for the first time in Kuwait.

BBC : The 28,000 eligible voters, 60% of whom are women, are voting in segregated polling booths, a condition demanded by Islamist and tribal MPs.
Women were granted equal political rights last year and will vote in full legislative polls in 2007.
Kuwait's first women candidates are 32-year-old Jenan Boushehri, a chemical engineer at the Kuwait Municipality, and 48-year-old Khalida Khader, a US-educated physician and a mother of eight.
"I am so pleased that I have become one of the first Kuwaiti women candidates to run in elections," Dr Khader said in an interview with AFP news agency.
"I have broken the ice and hope this will benefit the cause of women."

She was trying to make a point that now finally Kuwait can embrace democracy and women's rights. Spoke with a man who was walking on the beach in KC with a gaggle of his wives. Christian was waxing poetic about how in the pre-war days the women would've been tagging along behind the man dutifully, but how now post-war they were empowered and the man had left them walk ahead of him. However, what could be said to distinguish women's mistreatment in the Muslim world is the general lack of Islamic education amongst men and women about day-to-day matters, including the roles and rights of women. Mistreatment and abuse of women, and wives in particular is condemned by Islam. Consider the following Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira in Tirmidhi: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,"The one most perfect in his faith is he whose conduct is best and the best amongst you is he who behaves best towards his wife." Now consider the following the statistics about how many women are treated in the United States, taken from the 1995 National Crime Victimization Survey of the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Domestic Violence Hotline Fact Sheet and Statistics HOW MANY ABUSED WOMEN ARE THERE IN THE U.S.? Women age 12 or older annually sustained almost 5 million violent victimizations in 1992 and 1993. Women and girls ages 12 and up annually reported about 500,000 rapes and sexual assaults, almost 500,000 robberies, and about 3.8 million assaults. WHO ARE THE ABUSERS In 29% of all violence against women by a lone offender, the perpetrator was an intimate (husband,ex-husband, boyfriend or ex-boyfriend). Women annually reported about 500,000 rapes and sexual assaults Friends or acquaintances of the victims committed over half of these rapes or sexual assaults. Strangers were responsible for about 1 in 5. HONOR KILLINGS IN AMERICA? Of the 5328 women murdered in 1990, FBI data indicate that about half or more of them by a husband or boyfriend. VIOLENCE AMONG COUPLES A minimum of 16 % of American couples experienced an assault during the year they were asked about it, and about 40% of these involved severely violent acts, such as kicking, biting, punching, choking, and attacks with weapons. A 1993 national poll found that 34% of adults in the United States report having witnessed a man beating his wife or girlfriend and that 14% of women report that a husband or boyfriend has been violent with them. THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE CAUSED TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN BY ABUSE During the last decade, domestic violence has been identified as one of the major causes of emergency room visits by women. From 20% to 30% of the women who are seen by emergency room physicians exhibit at least one or more symptoms of physical abuse. 10% of the victims were pregnant at the time of abuse. 10% reported that their children had also been abused by the batterer. THE ECONOMIC FACTOR IN WOMEN'S ABUSE *Women aged 19 to 29 and women in families with incomes below $10,000 were more likely than other women to be victims of violence by an intimate. 13 JohnRyan The elections referred to were for seats in the Kuwait Municipality ( not Parliament ) that were vacated due to recent changes in ministerial positions ( when the new Amir took his position). These are first steps towards women entering the political arena and as a Kuwaiti, I'm pleased that this is finally happening. Oyster I would like to see a reference to that bit of news; it sounds pretty far fetched to me. Kuwait is formally a dry country, yes. But I have never heard of anyone being hung in a sports stadium for possession of alcohol. There is a fair amount of law and order in this country

Polygamy is allowed in Islam but not every man is married to several women in Kuwait. And they certainly don't trail behind them.

10 Sonic, the Iranian army would be destroyed in a couple of weeks just like the Iraqi army was. The only reason we had to fight an insurgency in Iraq was because we didn't send all the troops we would need to occupy from the start. Also, U.S. involvement in Iraq should be done soon. Only 4 provinces are still resisting and when the Iraqi army has enough men they will take over those areas and we will leave having accomplished our mission.

13 Leatherneck, I'm not sure who this "everyone" you speak of is. Most military analysis I have read thinks a war with Iran would be a seriously tough prospect, one that with your army bogged down in Iraq the US military could not win. The Iranians are well armed, have the ability to close the gulf to oil ($200 a barrel anyone) and also allies all over the region, including Iraq. Even a conventional victory would still leave you the problem of occupying a country twice as big as Iraq and with plans in place to conduct a guerrilla war that would make Fallujah look like a cakewalk. Think it over. As for Chris and his "we are winning in Iraq" fantasy, how many times are have we seen that disproved?

Our interests are facing stronger opposition and resistance worldwide from the Europeans, the Russians, the Chinese, India, Canada, and Latin America. The CIA, the Pentagon, and other dometic and international intelligence agencies have studied different war sceneros and all point to a marginial draw and the destruction of both Israel and the United StatesÂ’ superpower status. Iran is no where near Iraq and Afganistan and we can not just walk in. The have surface to air missiles, anti-aircract missiles, sub-marines, ballisitic missiles, and high tech nuclear technology and know how.
